Love & Roots, 12x12 acrylic on wood
My usual morning routine is coffee and journaling, but this past week has been coffee and painting. The length of time hasn’t been long, 30-45 minutes, but it’s been just enough time. Just enough time to tweak, just enough time to add just a little something, just enough time to sit and observe.
The other morning I made my way to garage “my studio” once again. With a warm cup of coffee in hand, I walked toward the almost finished painting I’d been working on all week. I wrote and then painted the word “love” across the top. Soon after, I heard the words, "It's done."
I stepped back to observe it, and never had felt so emotional over a painting I had created before. This is the route I want to follow, incorporating more of my doodles into my mixed media art.
